A patient infected with chikungunya presented himself to the emergency services in the Val-de-Marne department on 19 August. He was presenting fever, suffering from great fatigue and muscle pain, reveals The Parisian.
Confronted with such symptoms, doctors decided to carry out a screening test. This proved to be positive for chikungunya. The sanitary protocols in force were then triggered by the Ile-de-France authorities. 'The person concerned is well and has not been hospitalised,' the Regional Health Agency (ARS) reassured The Parisian.
Two mosquito control operations in Nogent-sur-Marne
In order to prevent other residents from being infected with chikungunya, the ARS quickly prepared two mosquito control operations in Nogent-sur-Marne. The first took place on the night of this Tuesday to this Wednesday, at the Paul-Bert district level. This is the district where the infected person lives. Mosquito control was carried out within a 150 m radius around their home.
Finally, the second operation will take place on the night of 1st to 2 September, seven days after the first mosquito control. In parallel, residents of the commune can meet from this Wednesday with agents from Santé publique France to be informed about the situation and the dangers of the tiger mosquito.
